Introduced in 2006, the American Gold Buffalo coin is the answer to the Biggest Gold Investment Question we've received in over 60 years of business right here in Charlotte, NC.  I'll list the other 3 further down for your thought-provoking entertainment, but here's the biggest.

What do I do if I want to purchase a gold coin that is made here in the United States, Pure 24-Karat, widely recognized and accepted, and priced fairly to the spot gold price each day? (spoiler alert: the Gold Eagle is 22-Karat - it has one full ounce of pure gold PLUS copper and silver to harden it should it ever have to survive the hardships of circulation).

This 1 oz coin is the answer.  Minted from Pure .9999 gold and bearing a denomination of $50 (don't spend it! - this is just to make it an official coin and thus more easily traded in the markets) the American Gold Buffalo is a beautiful and iconic coin that will please the collector and investor alike - without additional collector cost.  While prices between the Buffalo and Eagle coins will stray apart from each other at different parts of the year, this is primarily due to production schedules and availability of the correct purity blanks (planchets) on which the coins are struck.  Typically the Buffalo costs a few dollars more than the Eagle due to lower production, but a difference small enough that personal preference should be the deciding factor between the two.  (Please note that unlike the Gold Eagle, the Gold Buffalo is only currently avaialble in the one-ounce size; we hope to see fractionals in the future, but they are not coming soon to our chagrin).
