If you are looking for a highly liquid, 24-Karat (.9999) gold bullion coin, the Canadian 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf is a great choice.  It can be bought, sold, or traded anywhere in the world for a fair market price due to its longstanding tenure in the top-three category of gold bullion coins (Gold Eagle, Gold Maple Leaf, Gold Krugerrand).

The 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf is the flagship Gold Bullion Coin of the Royal Candian Mint. These coins are guaranteed by the Canadian government to contain 1 oz (troy ounce) of .9999 fine gold.   It is the most popular .9999 pure gold coin in the world.

Weight

  •  Gold Weight 1.00 troy ounce; 31.1035 g) (most coins will weight ever so slightly more, about 31.11 grams due to trace amounts of copper and the mint's fastidiousness in its guarantee of 1 oz. of pure gold)

Gold Maple Leaf Coins will be of Uncirculated Quality unless otherwise stated in the product description. This specific product is a random year, and will feature a portrait of the Royal Monarch (Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III) on the obverse and the Canadian Maple Leaf on the reverse.  This product listing is exclusively for .9999 coins minted between 1982 and the current year.

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is the official bullion gold coin of Canada, and is produced by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM).  It is one of the purest gold regular-issue coins in the world with a gold content of .9999 fineness (24 karat). More Canadian Gold Maple Leafs are sold every year worldwide than any other gold coin and the population of Gold Maple Leafs is only surpassed by the gold Krugerrand. Gold Maple Leafs are made from gold extracted from mines located in Canada.

The coin was introduced in 1979.  Coins minted between 1979 and 1982 may be either .999 or .9999 purity, but in 1983 the RCM switched to exclusively minting 9999 gold coins.  This product listing is exclusively for .9999 coins.  The 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is legal tender with a face value of $50 CAD (Canadian Dollars). The market value of the metal varies, depending on the spot price of gold as traded on both the NYMEX and other international commodity exchanges. Having a .9999 millesimal fineness (24 karats), the coin is among the purest official bullion coins on the planet. The millesimal fineness scale typically refers to the minimum guaranteed purity on a fraction of 1. i.e. a purity of .9999 would mean its minimum purity is .9999/1. The standard version has a weight of 1 troy ounce (31.103 grams). Other sizes and denominations include 1 gram, 1/25 oz. ($0.50), 1/20 oz. ($1), 1/10 oz. ($5), 1/4 oz. ($10), and 1/2 oz. ($20).
